Daya At Medical College

Almost 30 years ago we had a vision of what Hope would provide for the disadvantaged children who arrived at our door. We pledged to provide them with care, a safe environment and an education that would equip them for adult life. We built a village, staffed it with amazing people, and invited the children in. Our ambitions for the children were to ensure they would all find employment once their school days were over in as good a field as possible.

We did not allow for the ambitions of our children!!

In 2003 a small baby was brought to Hope having had a very difficult start in life. We brought her in, introduced her to her House Mother, and prepared to raise her and educate her according to our ethos. Almost from the beginning she showed signs of high intelligence and had a very caring attitude to the younger children in her house. She continued to excel in her education and extra-curricular activities, learning to play the guitar to a good standard as well as enjoying dance.

By 2020 it was clear that she would achieve top marks in all her exams and she declared that she would like to go to Medical School and train to be a doctor.

We are delighted to say that in 2023 she has been accepted at Teaching University Geomedi in Tbilisi, Georgia and her training will commence in February 2023. This is a six-year course. The cost of the course is not insignificant and combined with travel and living costs the amount of money we need to raise for this one student is £8000 annually.

We are looking for sponsors who would like to contribute either a monthly/annual amount for the period of her studies or make a one-off payment towards these costs to help us, help her to achieve her dream.

Had she not arrived at Hope her dream would never have been a possibility, so we are grateful to the sponsors who have helped her to this point. We are now looking to you to help her through this next phase of her life.
